Course Overview

This training program has been designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the Atlantic Canada Offshore Petroleum Training and Qualifications Committee guidelines for Rigger Training 4.20. 

This program ensures the participant understands the safety factors associated with movement of a load, including risk assessments, proper lift planning requirements and types of lifts. 

Course Duration:  1 day

Who should attend?

This program is designed for participants such as Deck Supervisors, Crane Operators, Deck Operators, Roustabouts, Mechanics, Millwrights or other positions shall gain the knowledge required to conduct lifting and rigging operations in the offshore environment, including the construction, inspection, maintenance and selection of lifting equpment.

Curriculum Topics: 

∗  Communications and Crane / Hoist Signals
∗  Sling angle safety factor calculations and center of gravity
∗  Crane selection, setup, load radius for Dock, Ship and Mobile Cranes
∗  Sling and Shackle types, sizes, configurations and inspections
∗  Prepare pre-lift hazard assessments
∗  Basic knot typing and rigging hitch types
∗  Rigging hitch types and hardware
∗  Wire rope construction
∗  Legislative Requirements
